My mom drew this sketch in the late 1960s, inspired by the story of Peter reaching for Jesus. I recently learned from my sister that she saw a deeper meaning in it; how God’s hand is always fully extended, while ours, bent and hesitant, shows our need for humility and surrender.
I’ve restored her original piece on a parchment background to honor the timeless message of grace and mercy in every line. I also added Isaiah 41:13 which exemplifies the meaning behind the sketch.
